Supabase and Appwrite are backends-as-a-service designed to replace Firebase. Supabase focuses heavily on relational databases, wrapping PostgreSQL with realtime API layers. Appwrite is database-agnostic and runs a microservice container architecture that provides easy authentication, database storage, and file cloud management out-of-the-box.
